It would be best to use the O2 sensor ground if you can. If you have a car that is a 96 or 97, many of us would love to hear that it worked. Interestingly enough, with no action, the SAI codes disappeared on my car and the CEL went out - I'm not sure I understand this - I made my own copy of the circuit but at the moment it is not connected

I purchased two of the enclosed circuits in the first batch of circuit boards. Since receiving them, I have made the decision to rebuild the engine (currently underway). Consequently, anyone interested in purchasing one or both of my units could contact me by PM, since I no longer have a need for them.
Incidentally, when my heads and cam towers were reworked as part of the rebuild, I had the SAI ports sizing opened up which will retard the tendency for the ports to plug off with carbon. Should not be an issue for me ever, since I doubt that I'll ever put enough miles on the fresh engine to approach that point where the SAI issue looms up its ugly head.

pete - my 97 was stolen, but while I had it, I was never able to get the circuit to suppress the CEL light - I verified that the circuit was operational and pulled all 4 sensors to zero volts during the running of the air injection motor, so it was working and wired correctly, but it did not do the trick. I expect that 97 and 98 use different software that can detect this condition somehow. I don't anticipate buying another 993 - why provide new bait for the thieves - they will just come again with a tow truck and wire clippers and take it - but I'll almost for sure get another porsche - don't know if I want a panamera hybrid or a newer 911 though..... such hard decisions.

I finally got around to installing the device in my 96 Targa. A friend and fellow 993 owner helped with the wiring; we must have gotten something wrong because I started getting O2 sensor codes every 50 miles or so. I removed the device and, guess what, no more O2 codes.
Anyone with similar issues?
Thanks,
Phil
