Default 993 Shift ****

My shift **** is beat up, and I think it's time to replace it...

I was wondering where to get a nice aluminum shift ****/boot setup. I looked to Rennline, but I was hoping to have the shift pattern on the ****, and it looks likes their's doesn't have that.

Is there another solution?

Thanks in advance,

Jason (Silver '96 C-4 Cab)

Try here. www.carnewal.com . Be prepared for your wallet to burst into flames. They were expensive when I bought mine five years ago. They have really exploded in recent years.

Thanks guys...

Interesting, though, that both options from Suncoast say that they are NOT compatible with the C-4; which unfortunately is what I have.

Why wouldn't they work for the C-4?

They will work on a C4, they are just all rubber and not rubber/alloy inside so they are just a friction fit on the shaft and not held on with the D clip

My aluminum/leather **** has a concealed set-screw. It's locked on the rod good. I'll post a part number later.

Jason, I searched a lot for a nice shift **** and didn't quite find the right one. I ended up getting an aluminum shift pattern: http://www.rennbay.com/968-993-stain...287aac03152b05

Then I had the original boot re-dyed and for less than $100 I now have really good looking shift ****. Just another option...

I think it's time to seriously ask folks here: Is there enough interest in making a metal or wood round ball **** (with shift pattern if needed) for 993s?

If so, what's the gallery willing to pay for one with and without the leather boot?

for some reason those don't look right to me in a 911. Seems a bit ferrari or muscle car like to be honest.

Am I the only one that likes the stock turbo shift ****? Nice weight, looks fine, and period/car correct.

Hi Alan,

I have a Turbo and want to spruce up my interior a bit as well The suncoast link you posted says it won't fit the Turbo besides the C4 Jason mentioned above as well.

I'm curious as to the option you fitted, was it from Suncoast? Gerts prices are insane 395 Euro - USD570......????

cheers!

I love the round **** in my autocross appliance. Don't care what it looks like at all, but it feels like pure sex. Seriously.

And I think that round ***** (golf ball dimpled ones) had been used on racing P-cars for a while. Carrera GT also had one. So it doesn't seem out of place to me that way either.

But, of course, this is a pretty subjective thing.

Looks like there is a specific one for the 4WD;

But I know for a fact all ***** will fit all cars
