Default 993 racing pictures from the way-back machine - Part 2 (Pike's Peak Hillclimb)

The Pike’s Peak Hillclimb was (well, still is) essentially in my back yard and I can only think of a single one I missed from 1984 to 2000. After that, it started getting a little hit-or-miss if I made it. Oddly enough, I have very few pictures from the hillclimb. I’m not sure why that is, but such is life.

As I was going through my box o’ pictures, I was delighted to find these pictures of THE man, THE myth, THE legend, Jeff Zwart in his Valvoline sponsored 1996 993tt. I actually remember taking these pictures because it was the first time I had a moto-drive on the film advance, so I could take sequence shots like you see here. Previously, I had been advanced the film manually on an old Nikon that my dad gave me. I can clearly remembering telling myself to choose the cars I wanted to capture wisely because I had only brought so much film and the moto-drive would chew up film in a hurry! Naturally, Jeff Zwart and a 993tt made my list of “must haves” when it came to pictures.

These pictures were taken just below Devil’s Playground.

Cool photos. Gotta agree...... ways too close to the edge for me. I have trouble not hitting cones during auto-crosses.

Great pictures. Zwart is a bad ***.
Through the years: (just turn it off at 5:30 before the Cayenne pops up)

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Did you get to see him in the GT2 RS this year?

OT, but your car is beautiful. What color is is?

I'm not sure how he did overall, but I know he won his class (showroom stock, iirc).

Sadly, I did not make it this year. However, I was there last year for his run in the GT3 and that was GREAT! The bark of that N/A motor could be heard for miles and it was a GLORIOUS noise!

Thanks for the compliment! It is "Amaranth Violet".
