Here is another percentage... of the 250 PCA members here in southern Alberta Canada (Calgary-Wild Rose Region), there are only 6 in the club, but I know of 2 "Lone Wolves", so 3-4% are 993s.
most D-bags think they should be driving a "new-er" version of the 911.....they have no idea what the 993 really even represents , hence they dont buy 'em

good - there are plenty of other really nice cars for D-bags. Pretty much every major manufacturer makes a "high end" vehicle that is expensive now days. Lots to pick from.

Hmmm . Not worth typing what I am thinking right now.
Mine was one of 6 or so at the Deutsche Marque Concours in Northern VA in the early Spring. I only see about one a month, (maybe) out in the wild around DC... I try and do my best and take her to the office once a week if the weather cooperates. I like not seeing myself coming and going. I usually pass guys in 996/7's with my 99' Jeep Cherokee on the highway... they seem to like people looking at them. When I drive the 993, I'm usually going too fast for them to even see who's behind the wheel...
People in So Cal don't like old body style cars, so when the 996 came out the 993 became old news they sold their 993 and bought a new 996. People in other parts of the country bought the So Cal 993s and those cars now live happily spread out over the country.
(Just my theory)
Well thankfully per the SoCal new body style theorists all remaining 993s are in good hands i.e. purists who know what they have and own it for all the right reasons and not the symbolism it carries (or once did) for others.....hence my initial response to anyone asking about my car is "oh it's just an old Porsche" unless I sense the air cooling around me ofcourse and begin spreading the gospel
