a rip in the space-time continuum and life as we know it ceases to exist!

A CEL will pop with an SAI code due to lack of air being pumped into SAI ports

If the hose from the air pump to the SAI check valve is weak, it will develop a hole...
If not, the air pump pushes really hard against a blockage (the old and crusty SAI check valves usually stick closed)... so there is the chance of stressing the blower motor and damaging it.

Mark is right. However, if you have a 95 OBD-1 car there will be no CEL and no symptoms. If fact, you can simply delete the damn thing.

Cheers,
Joe

I assumed 96-98 based on the concern

you know what happens when you assume...

Your assumption is spot on. 95 owners generally never give SAI a second thought.

BTW - I need one of the cool FD Motorsports decals for the garage........

Replace the check valve keep all the components in place to remain street legal if inspected or if you ever want to sell the car.
