Ski and Mountain bike rack for 993 convertible?!
I'd like a ski and/or mountain bike rack for my 993 convertible. I believe this might be a tall order but I'd sure like one! Thanks for all leads, Greg.

a rear hitch is available for the 993, bolts up to the rear bumperette mounts, and tow hook I believe. That would allow you to get some sort of hitch mount system.
Some gentleman in Ca. makes custom Porsche racks. I had his contact info once, but is now long gone. Search on here, and Pelican, and I know the guys name will come up.
It's possible, not simple, nor cheap. Having the ability to take your hobbies with you AND drive the car there, is priceless however.

Bought one from someone here a couple of years ago, but haven't had the need to use it. Realize it has a ball mount, not a receiver on which you can plug in a rear carrier/bike or ski rack. I think it's easy enough to modify for a Class 1 receiver, though.

that's the guy...
I talked to his wife last year about 993 racks. He can make them, since practically every rack is custom. Having said that, this older gentleman had health issues at the time, I trust and hope he has fully recovered.
