I have a Wilton. Check out German made Rigid forged steel ones. Lots of guys buy old vises for cheep cheep...

I checked ebay and they are asking alot for the oldies but goodies.

There you are, right in the middle of "hillbilly" country...Just check out a good flea market or antique junk store and buy a good one that's "seasoned in".

I have a huge machinist's vice that allows the workpiece to be rotated 360 degrees and then fixed in place. It's bombproof and I abuse it weekly - grinding, hammering, welding - you name it.

No clue of the manufacturer but I picked it up from some hillbilly on Craigslist for $25 a few years back.
