Looking to buy RUF 18" Wheels
I'm looking to buy a set of new or used RUF 18" wheels for a 993 - R93 300 360 02. Does anyone know where I can get a set? I talked to RUF Germany and they sent me to RUF USA, who told me they only carry the 19" wheels. For now, I'm interested in the 18" wheels, but if that becomes an impossible find I may look at getting a set of 19s.
I would appreciate a pm if you're selling a set or know where I can find them.
I'll post this in the 993 Turbo forum as well. Are there other forum/sites I should post this request?
Thanks,
Scott.

I have a set of new 18 inch rufs with n-spec tires and both have just 600 miles on them. My car may be sold and the wheels will be sold separately. PM if interested...I'm in Toronto.

Because they look soooo good! And they are tough.
I don't believe these wheels are being produced any longer. There is some debate that 19" wheels of any type don't ride well on 993s. So consider that before you buy 19" wheels. I don't have any personal experience.

I have LOTS of personal experience with RUF 19" wheels on my 993 - and they ride great, and are VERY strong. Its all BS about the weight, for street use I would rather trade a few pounds for the strength. I have hit some major potholes with these wheels and had them checked later...straight as an arrow. My alternative MY02's would have bent for sure. They are also one of the best looking wheels around.
Flame suit on. :-)

The 19" wheels look amazing. Glad they work well with the 993.

For my tastes, the RUF rims are one of the best looking wheels for the 993. I'm also glad to hear they're strong as I think we have more roads with potholes than we do without. It's so bad here that every fall I have to send the rims out to be straightened.
Thanks for the feedback on the 19s. I'd read that some people were running them, but I wasn't too sure about the ride. I'm not worried about the weight as they will only be used for street. If I ever decide to put the car on the track it sounds like the MY02s are the way to go.
Also, does anyone have pictures of a stock 993 with RUF 18s? I've only been able to find RUF cars with RUF wheels in my search.
Thanks,
Scott.

Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I agree with most of the beholders that the Ruf wheels fit the 993 bettervthan any other. What would worry me is that the last 993 I had, a 95 C2 coupe, came
with aftermarket 18's that I didn't like the looks of. After help from the folks at Wheel Enhancement (I didn't know of Rennlist then) I chose Kenisis 58's at 17" with mounted Pilot Sports. We weighted the fronts and rears and found the rears were 12lbs less with the front difference less. I'm not sure of the front difference but I'm guessing 9-10lbs. The difference in noise, handling and steering feel was quite an improvement. I don't imply that the wheels I took off are comparable to Alois's wheels but unsprung weight is unsprung weight. With that said I should that admit that if Michelle Pheiffer should gain 20lbs I remain an enthusiastic mate. Cheers......Chris
