Need Help NOW please: DME...RESOLVED...TY
Car wont start!
The lights go on. I here the engine turning or cranking but not catching....any ideas?
I believe DME problem, i wouldnt get any cranking....maybe the battery is weak???
Is there a proper way to administer a boost on a 993 so I dont damage anything?
It would be AAA....
Thanks,
sam

Thing is it happened 2 weeks ago, then 15 minutes later...it started up. I am guessing, if the DNE is dead, it wouldnt have started up again....

Check battery voltage before starting and after you've cranked it a bit and see how fast it recovers...instantly I hope. An on-board voltmeter would tell you that.
Load test the battery.
Battery terminals clean? Terminal at the starter clean?

You guys are the best.....I tried a boost, with no luck!
Then swapped the DME and voila....started up in no time.
If it wasnt for this board I would not even have known to carry a spare DME relay....

+1 for a Voltmeter.
Alex's example inspired me to install one under the dash.
Great way to determine condition of battery and alternator.
Also, clean battery posts with some dielectric grease or Vaseline are a must.
