Wow - love it. Some more details and pictures pls. How much did you pay? What mileage? What you are planning to do with? So many questions ;-)

It was probably restored in the '70's with a cheap red paint job that faded away and riveted floor patches. My plans are to redo the floors and longs and get it into tip top mechanical condition. The exterior will stay as is. You can buy a 993 for what a driver quality 356A goes for.
I just picked this up. It was bought in Arizona and I drove it 2000 miles home this week. 75 mph, 32 mpg, no breakdowns...what a car!
WOW! You know I think that's sooooooo cool!!! I really miss not having a 356 in the garage just as much (and if not even a little more <sorry> than a 993). Congrats to you! The fact that it runs well enough for you to make a 2000 mile trip in it already I am sure helped you a lot in deciding not to fully restore it (other than the MUST do's). Sometimes a great running car is better left alone.
I agree: LET THE PATINA LIVE ON!!!
..... IF this were my new toy, there is one thing that I would do right away..... I'd change the B Rims for the proper A ones I'm **** that way.....
...And it looks like it has great gaps and a nice hood fit. Very hard to find one that hasn't had the hood 'kinked' by someone who doesn't know how to open and shut them properly. Any pictures of the 2000 mile drive home??
