Thanks Rin. I bought an AZ in transit sticker for the drive home which got lost or stolen in Lethbridge. It was stuck to my rear plate. US Customs gave me a hassle for not signing the title and the Canadian customs people gave me the 20 questions over the value. Its a long story but lets just say that the agent wouldn't make a good poker player. I declared the actual purchase price plus the value of new parts I had installed or was carrying (tires, windshield, brakes, etc.)

Thanks everyone. I'm a little surprised by the level of interest in the 356. I'll see if I can get a few more pics this week. She is certainly rough around the edges but I ordered a pile of new metal today so she will be pretty underneath by spring.

Reminds me of a great trip with my dad in the mid '80's bringing a C cab home from California. Flew out with some assorted parts, loaded it up and drove it home to Iowa. Put the top down for part of the trip going over the divide in New Mexico. Dodged a tornado in Kansas by about 5 miles- found out 6 volt headlights aren't so hot in a thunderstorm (with nearby tornado) but otherwise ran great!!
Wish I still had that car (how many times have we said that????)!!
Some friends (who have a restoration shop that does amazing 356 work and are currently restoring one of my 914's) drive a '59 B they call their anti-concours car. LOTS of patina and rust on that one, but it runs great...
