Help updating a 964 to a 993 body

I was going to say get a 993 and then put a 964 front clip on it. You get the old-style bug-eyed look without having to worry about valve adjusts and you get the 993 rear suspension.

wow everyone has been so much help
look my 964 was in a bad wreck which ruined most of it body panels,,, so I decided to go back with all steel 993 TT panels,,, it now appearance wise looks lika a 993 TT Cabriolet... which since they didn't make one looks pretty awesome... I am into the car way cheap,,, it only has 35k miles and runs perfect,,, I just was hoping someone knew where I could get the sheet metal pieces I needed to finish this up ... not all the "no **** sherlock" suggestions so far, I personally wanted to do this, am glad I did, don't have a fortune off in it, jeez it's a fricken 964 calm down on the purist bs,,, a set of unique circumstances took me this direction,,, also I bought a 83 911 back in 04 off ebay for 16k that had been updated to a 993 cabriolet, they did an outstanding job on it, I sold it in 09 for 19k on ebay so who ever said 993 conversions are have to sell was wrong I had 4 bidders fighting over it, ok ok I'm sure they were not Rennlist members but the 19k was real, as much as I love porsche's I really role my eyes at some of their owners,,,

Ronnie ,I guess as you've noticed this isn't exactly the place to be looking for help when it comes to
alterations either updating or backdating of Porsche vehicles kind of a frowned on topic if I were you
I'd check out the bodywork and paint section of Pelican Parts forums they may be able to point you in
the correct direction ,while Ill advised it is your car and you can mod it to your taste ,no one else's.
This was a common update in california in the nineties, you already have the 3.6 engine ,updated a/c
and climate control ,third Gen suspension, and vaunted G50/50 trans your most of the way there and the
basic difference is door panels on the interior.
Any porsche dismantler has the U shaped sheetmetal you are in need of just get someone talented to
do the work so it doesn't turn out like some hack job..Bert

hello,,, I am updating my 91 964 cabriolet to a 993 turbo body and need some help / advice with the front fender adaption,,, the top of the front clip, ya know where the fender bolts on all the way along the top, next to the hood seal, are a different shape on the 964 so some guy that didn't know what he was doing butchered the tops trying to make them fit with the 993 fenders, so I need to start over cut off the very top of the clip on each side and weld in 993 uppers? I can't find anyone who has a donor car to cut these off of, anyone out there updated an early 911 to a 993 with any suggestions? the car is almost done except for this and it's driving me crazy thanks ronnie

Too funny. I'm sure if Rennlist existed in the '80s when we'd take every dead POS 2.7L carcass we could find that was through it's second half-assed rebuild, and basically worthless to pop a 3.0 and slopenose or widebody it I'd be chased out of here for butchering a factory thermal reactor/air pump targa.
