Hmm, a quote worth saving for those who come and ask the question that you were originally asking!
We could have told you that....
Hopefully the red 993 only attracts friendly attention! I hear you on the "anticipate a long relationship"... I still get that little bit of excitement every time I hop in and head off for a drive...usually about the time I step on the right pedal!

Had 07 Targa 4S (997). Great car, always wanted one. Sold it.
Got a 98 C2S (993). Wonderful. Never wanna sell it. But getting regular compliments and offers.
Great way to go back in time and feel better about it.
Congrats !!

Thanks everyone! Guess we all get to share the madness. I must be careful about mods. I am a half-a*$#@ mechanic at best and it's 340 miles to a dealer or indy. After getting used to her I will start down the rabbit hole.
Question answers: 1/ Traded the 996 - I knew better than try to convince SWMBO that her car needs to stay outside. 2/ As previously posted there were some 996's made in 2005.
We are heading out Saturday for New Jersey and then a circuitous route back to West Texas. Unfortunately the redhead must stay home. It will be tough to think about her waiting impatiently in the garage. By the time my wife and I pack the Ridgeline for a 2 week trip we will look like the Joad's head to California. The Honda is a great vehicle but probably not quite as much fun on the Dragon.
Thanks Again to everyone.

Yep, the Ridgeline is not as much fun to drive as the P-cars, or as fast, but it is comfortable-I love mine!

"The 996 is a nice ride; the 993 is a great drive. "
Great Post! and Great Car. When I was in the market I could not make up my mind of a 993 or 996.....till the test drive.

Welcome to terrific car and an even better site when you own one. The folks here are incredibly knowledgeable and very generous with their time. The only problem is here you will learn lots of expensive ways to make a fabulous car even better. You are standing at the top of a steep slope, hang on to your wallet and senses.....Chris
