Putting track seats in my 993

I have the same and agree with this. They are very comfortable for me. It was quite a chore, as are most race seats, to put it correctly, though.

If you are looking at recinable seats you shouldn't rule out the König K5000 seat. It has not got electricity in it so it's a fair bit lighter than the standard seats. Yet it's comfortable, sportier (deeper side bolsters) than the 993 sport seats and they also let you run a harness with sub belt strap hole etc. Of course it will be heavier then a racing bucket seat but also more comfortable for longer trips. It's also period correct but maybe not the best looking seat in the world..

any more seat comments?
out here in the boonies I've only found one shop with sparco seats. nothing wrong with sparco, I fit fine in the evo seats, I've just been wondering if I should take a road trip to try other seats before I commit to sparco evo's since its the only test subject where I live.

Ive also had issues looking at some of the off-brands. Sabelts, momo's, OMP's - no one in the tri state area seems to have them in a shop to be "sat in". Im not against recaros or sparcos - but they can be pricey

Looking for answers as to what sort of electrical modifications are necessary if putting in non electrical seat...
actually I want to semi-permanently remove the passenger seat and build a low platform so that the dog can ride along...
thanks!

Recaro Pole Position ABE/TÜV version are the best choice for track and road use, since they have the link for the seatbelt on the right side of the seat, that is why they are homologated for road use in Germany....but aame time you can use a 6 points racing harness, to be perfectly connected to your car while tracking it.
if you are going to race it, you need other kind of seats, FIA approved.

You don't have to do anything. You leave the seat harness unplugged when you install non powered seats. There is also a seat belt sensor which is a separate plug on the driver side if you decide to keep your 3pt seat belt... Obviously not needed for a 6pt harness if you go down that route.

And I assume then that the open harness does not cause warning lights to appear on the dash?
Someone else said to pull the fuse- but seat fuses might be conjoined- meaning that left and right seats may be
running on a single fuse... not sure about that because I can not find a fuse diagram...
