IMHO Copart auctions are scary. Happened to visit one of their sites awhile back. Had never seen a bigger or sadder collection of beaters.

Rennlist is a great resource if you're looking for a 993 (or any Pcar for that matter).

Good luck.

The fact that a 16-year old car has been repainted is of no real concern, I think. most good looking Rennlist cars has been re-painted at some point of their lives, I believe, even if it's just a bumper and nose pain job. The reasons for re-paint and how it was done is the question.

This particular car seems to have been hit on the nose or the left front corner judging by the pics. it's hard to tell without touching and seeing it, but if you look at eBay pictures you will see that the gap between the hood and bumper cover is uneven.

Still, is it worth $12-15K with this mileage in this condition? I say yes, absolutely, especially if you are looking for a proverbial $20K driver. If you are looking for a pristine car... well, you wouldn't e looking at Copart

If I was closer and could see it in person I'd definitely be more than a bit curious. As a matter of fact, I think someone should alert Ken (Race911), this might be a good cab for him.

On an unrelated note. I think we'll soon see parts from this car on eBay offered either from LA or Oregon.

And, oh, I'm curious do you have exact link to Coparts? I don't see it when I search for a 911.

That's what I was thinking. It will sell for like 8-12K spend 3k wrenching on it myself and have a nice DD. I guess im still on the fence.

Are you logged in as a member when searching? I don't have access to it at work. But can post it tonight.

Copart is hit or miss def not my first choice. We just moved into a new home so a car loan most likely is out of the question at this time. Im in no rush to buy I have a lot of things going on just saw this as maybe a good deal.

I'm not a member, no.

If this thing goes for $12K and there are no _major_ accidents or rebuilt titles in the past... I just think it might be a very good deal as a DD (I've had a 993 cab as a DD for the last 7 years). Even if it takes $7-8K to bring it to decent condition.

BTW, it has at the very least lower springs (hopefully shocks to match), and a few other things like aluminum shifter and brake handle. NR gauges are aftermarket, of course, as well as those seats - probably need to be replaced. Pedals are weird too. More than anything else I'd want to know if the mileage is real.

Was way off on what I thought it would sell for. Sold for $16,300 plus fees will put it around 18K. Buyer was from Poland.

Another low mileage car that will show in Germany after sorting it out ...

I thought it would go in $15K range myself.

It'll show up in Germany, alright. Without any history or mention of anything prior and possibly with _really_ low mileage. i think that after shipping it's a 15K Euro car and it will end up selling in 30K Euro range. Europeans will correct me if I'm wrong on the numbers.

Yes, your right. It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to get it ready.

That's like 30 years ago retro for me. We were telling Polak jokes as kids before we even knew what a Polak was. Now they've mostly been edited and or replaced by blonde jokes. Same, same.

No interest in bidding wars against flippers.

Funny-ism I'll post later on about a cab, one of my old customers was the original owner and I put a clutch in it at about 30K when his wife burned it up in short order.
