At a stoplight Wednesday night a guy (probably 50ish yrs old) who was stopped next to me complimented my car and then proceeded to tell me how he has totalled two 996s because "I drive too fast."
He said the second one only had 900 miles on it!

Who does that? And if you do, who admits that to a stranger like it is an OK thing.

I have come to the perhaps unremarkable conclusion that some people just are not very good drivers. I see it nearly every day. I drive a small, winding country road every day to and from work. Most people handle it fine, but I frequently come up behind people who, while traveling under the already low speed limit, appear to struggle to keep the car between the lines. They jerk from one side of the lane to another, drift across the middle line as if they are overwhelmed by the exteme G-forces they experience in a mild curve at 18 miles an hour, and generally show an almost complete lack of fine motor skills behind the wheel (pun intended). Frankly, as frustrating as it is to be stuck behind one of these people, I would not want to see them going any faster.

Shame on Porsche for making that can go that fast. I think all cars should be governed to 65mph. In fact, if we slow all cars down to around 35 mph there will be much fewer deaths. There should be a law!!!

+1. Just remember: 3x the limit and 135 Mph on a public road ... There is only one to blame and this is the not responsible driver! i do not need a lawer for that. It is common sense.

Stupid article. The rationale of "porsche made it go so fast, so they are at fault"....hmm, if he went off the road at the speed limit and hit the same tree (or trees as it appears in the pictures), can you guarantee he'd still be alive? Nope. With this rationale, NO ONE would make another car due to liability. As mentioned by the commentary at the bottom, if I cut my finger off with a knife (while drunk), can I then sue the knife manufacturer for making the knife too sharp? duh. I'm dumber for having read that article.

RIP Passenger

This is the society we live in. No one is ever at fault. It's much easier to blame someone else...

I don't think that right now Ryan Dunn really cares too much about apportioning blame.
