Motor Sound Pkg
Has anyone had the motor sound package installed on their car?
I'd love to have the original Porsche parts installed as my 1st mod. Any idea of cost?

FWIW, I sold my motor sound mufflers to the FDM guys for $275. I think that you can get a motor sound airbox lid for around $125 new.
I've never heard motor sound and non motor sound side by side but don't think there is much of a difference. I'd spend the money on some Fisters or RSRs instead. You'll still retain the factory look on the outside if concours events are a concern and have much better sound than motor sound.

I do not want an exhaust that drones on and on while on the highway. How do the Fisters or RSR mufflers sound?

Current '97 started with the Motor Sound airbox and mufflers, I upgraded the mufflers to the Fister Stage II's. Love the improvement. If I had to spend the money I would just do the Fister mods to a stock muffler rather than buy a new (or used) set of Motor Sound mufflers.
As I understand it from the FD boys the Stage II mods to a set of MS mufflers adds a little bit of sound over same mods to base mufflers. That's why I call mine Fister Stage II.5's.

You can get the airbox for $75. It also has a chrome trumpet.
The mufflers are also a tad louder, but not all that much. You really only hear them at WOT.
My C4S came with the Motorsound kit. Then I got STG II's & put the MS mufflers on the C4 with the airbox. Truth be told, I think the airbox makes more noise then the mufflers.
Get some RSR's or STG I mufflers, if you want it to sound good & stock.
