Default Removal of Read Deck Lid Badge

I would like to delete the rear badge on my C2S for a cleaner look. Is the badge held in place by adhesive or is the deck lid drilled for studs attached to the badge (similar to the front trunk lid Porsche badge). Assuming that the badge is glued on, what is the easiest way to remove the lettering and the adhesive.

Adhesive tape. Take some dental floss and it won't take long to get it off. No studs at all.

+1 on the dental floss, (and Goo Gone to remove the adhesive), but keep in mind that it is VERY likely that once removed, you will still see a "ghost imprint" on the paint where the badge was.
Plan on doing a bit of polishing to remove it.

+2 on dental floss, and it comes off MUCH easier and more likely in one piece if you first heat it up with a blow dryer. Getting it nice and hot softens the adhesive. I did this on two other 911s and I may do it on my C4S as well.

De-badging sure makes it easier to polish and wax the area! Nice clean look, IMO.

Warm it with a hair dryer and use floss.

As posted above, yup, that's the technique. I removed mine in anticipation of an RS kit, and could not be happier. Took a bit of polishing, but I suppose it would depend on how much UV and wear your exposed paint has seen.

Good luck!

Default De-badged!

Thanks for all the input. I was able to use the floss and Goo BeGone to get the adhesive off. Unfortunately, under the emblems was evidence of some past chip repair and there was a spot of rust below the "S" about the size of an eraser head. Don't know what to do about it, but it appears that there needs to now be some paint repair. Any suggestions?

Take some careful location measurements just in case you want to put a new set of CarreraS badges back on in the future, saving having to search through the threads. Sounds like the spot you indentified may require a complete repaint of your decklid if you're looking for perfection of course.

This is timely. I caught the C in the Carrera with the a towel last time I washed my 993. I am thinking the easiest solution was to just remove the whole thing.

THANKS,
