Default Another Alternator issue

I don't want to make this more complicated than it is but.. Had the alternator go out today (I believe) started onto the highway & bam -christmas tree of lights on the dash. I knew from my first experience that I didn't have much time to get somewhere.. Turn her around & made it back to the house.

I measured the voltage at the battery cables & was reading just over 11 volts.

I'd strictly write it off as a bad alternator but wanted some add'l opinion..

1) Initially had alternator failure in October - replaced with reman Bosch.

2) In the process of R&R, I discovered a significantly deteriorated wiring harness & had recall done.

Just want to make sure no one thinks there'd be other harness voodoo going on or any other checks I should (can) do prior to RMA-ing this reman Bosch.

In other news, post-wiring harness and cab motor recall, the compressor won't engage and the top motors won't actuate. Hell of a dealer over in Birmingham I tell ya.. I'm figuring the shorted (and mine was shorted) harness fried the CCU and regarding the (supposedly new) locking motors -who knows. Guess I'll pull that control unit, resolder everything. Hopefully that's it & I'll hope that was just coincidence..

Thanks!

I've seen batteries with internal intermittent shorts take out a series of alternators. It might be worth having the battery tested.
