Anyone use either of these guys? I looking for a PPI near thousand oaks and TRE seems to the be the closest independent. How about the dealer -- nayone know their reputation for 993 PPIs or service?

I just visited TRE motorsports in Van Nuys for the first time last week. I needed some advise on my Boxster S. Great place and the Service Manager seemed like a stand up guy. They have a good reputation on this forum too.

Dave Bouzaglou at TRE is super!
Aside from the work they do at TRE, he puts on a insane New Years Day fun run. Very Insane.
Last time Robert was able to go (when we had the C4S) there was at least 200 cars booming through the hills and valleys
and I was glad I stayed home in bed. I would have been screaming at the top of my lungs!

But if you want Thousand Oaks, call Rusnak in Thousand Oaks and see if Mike Schatz, aka Super Wrench, is still there. If he is....I'd be making an appt. there.

Dave at TRE is a really nice guy and a straight shooter.
PPIs are an imperfect thing by nature since a few hours with a car is not enough to be fully aware of a car's imperfections.
While I think TRE did an acceptable PPI on my turbo, I think that shop is more familiar with NA cars and the water cooled race products. I made a few discoveries that I figured would be covered in the PPI but weren't.
If you are shopping a turbo car, there may be other options, but for an NA car or a water cooler, TRE is a great place.
