Default GM part spotted in trunk

In addition to all of the VW parts that i'm finding in my car, I was happy to see a GM branded part in the trunk of my 993. I'm guessing this is a case of highest production volumes wins the tooling.

I sold a rear view mirror to a guy out of a 95 cab. He asked for his money back because it had the Audi trademark/symbol on it. He didn't believe me that it was a Porsche part and said every part in his car was a Porsche part. Wish I had is contact ifo. Would love to send him this pic.

Default other brand's parts

What other parts are of a brand other than Porsche? Electrical? Have bought VW parts #s at times relative to relays, etc..

Interesting Question.

So far I have found:

Aforementioned GM part and GM logo on diagnostic plug.

Lots of Mercedes connectors in engine bay.

VW/Audi electrical parts galore

I think I remember a Mitsubishi part behind the dash (or on the right side of the engine bay, can't remember now)

And for other parts manufacturers:

ATE brake resevoir

Brembo Brakes

Boge/Monroe/Bilstein shocks

Bischoff/ Gilette exhaust

Bosch everywhere

Beru plugs and wires

LUK and Sachs clutch and steering parts

VDO gauges and dimmer relay

Conti/Gates belts

INA lifters

Nokia amps and speakers

Pierburg vacuum parts

Stabilus hood and deck shocks

OE wheels I have seen so far STI(?), BBS, Speedline

AFAICT the nations represented when built new were:

Germany
Italy
Austria
France
Japan
USA
Finland
Switzerland

I am sure I am missing some.

I don't know why I find this stuff interesting, I guess it's the 993 Kool-Aid

Recaro seats

Reinz (+ Gloeckler?) gaskets

Glyco bearings

Mahle piston/cylinder (+ Goetze rings, or are the OE rings still supplied by Mahle?)

Laengerer oil coolers

Laso oil return tubes (or is that just the collapsible replacements?)

Drawing a blank on the OE valve supplier

The various glass companies

Pagid brake pads

Pirelli/Continental/Michelin/Bridgestone tires (though I'm sure one or more wasn't on 993s)

And Mobil oil original fill, right?

All I can think of without doing research.

I think I read that the A/C compressor is also Mitsubishi (or OEM from Mitsu).

+ Denso, Varta, Pentosin, TRW (?), and Sigla, off the top of my head. Porsche can't make everything.

Actually, Porsche actually makes very little. They spec out the parts they want made and then assemble the parts together.

I wonder if Mike's buddy thinks there are Porsche branded cows and has their own in-house butcher shop?
