Manila, Philippines. The land with lots of sun! Noticed the GT3 pulling on the straights but you were reeling him in the corners. Good braking points for you and too early for him. TFS the vid.

Heck, load the Dragon app on the phone and do speech to text-it's pretty amazing. Then you have a free hand to hold a cold one.

I'm learning new things about the Android every few minutes. Tried to play with Trackmaster on Thursday, but there was a pretty heavy instructor load so little down time between sessions and actually getting to take a few laps.

That's an MK1 997 GT3 (2007 or 2008 model). As I imagine you already know the MK2 997 GT3 is rather significantly improved/faster.

Looks like you're getting a lot out of that car, Ken. What's the power-to-weight ratio of the two cars? How well did the 997 driver know the track?

Nice driving Ken

Definitely running a little loose, what do you think the setup issue is?

I suppose. Story that came from the owner was that he was beyond what he could do with his Audi at track days, went to the dealer last summer to buy one, this one was there, he bought it. Guess I wrongly figured it was a '10. Ultimately, I think we can see that whether this was a first or second generation doesn't really matter. Further, his car (at a minimum) has Ohlins/other suspension mods, is regeared, different exhaust.

I'm still 4 or 6 seconds (depending on which lap we're watching) off what I've been able to do with prime RA1s. Mine is 10:1. Guy with the white one is fairly experienced, I suppose. I think I mentioned earlier he had Van Overbeck up there Thursday working with him. The biggest thing you're seeing here is that it was his first two laps in forever that he didn't have slicks on it. Yes, slicks, not R compounds.

Trashed rear tires. I was hanging on for one more day; I get what I can out of them. Car isn't any looser than what I'm used to in the old days with the '68 on 185's, or the '73S on 225's. Just that the limits are higher. (Funny thing is that my best time ever up there, even when the track was slower, with the '73S that was pretty stock and on an inferior Kumho V700 was inside a couple of seconds of what you see here. THAT would have made a good video!)

^ Ken, funny, that's exactly what it looked like, i.e. a long hood car on 'narrow' rear tires

Ken, very nice to watch. Don't you hate it when "fast cars" slow you down in the corners and under braking
Tks for posting

Cheers,
Geoff

I can pull some crap out of the car, but it's a DE car I'm usually giving rides in so no big deal.
Crap, posted on mobile so didn't see the avatars and didn't make the connection...

This was with Yellow Zonker! I know from Kim what's up with that car and what Steve did...

Cool and very well setup indeed...

Regarless, alwYs anpleasure to see a car well setup and a fellow "slider"...

I need more coffee...

I should show this to my neighbor with the 700HP 996. On a track there's not much you can do with all that braun unless you're exeperienced and setup correctly. Good post, way to go Ken!

The rest of this particular session. You might get a kick out of the one car that gave me the biggest run earlier that day--a V-6 Mustang (nearly 250lbs of ballast, even I started feeling it).
