How to remove the foul smell of an unwanted guest/pest
No, this is not a scene from the episode where Jerry had to ditch his car after taking it to the car wash (who still remembers that from Sienfield).
I suspect a mouse one point or another nested in the trunk of my car. I have sprayed the area with professional grade Lysol and left the car out in the sun to air out but I can still smell it. Any suggestions?
I did a google search and a website recommended this stuff:

I use a product called Stink Away / Stink Out (can't remember exact name) that I got from a sporting goods store. It works for sweat smells (my wife got it for me at Christmas - nice).

x2 on getting rid of ALL the source material.
I've also heard of good results for odor removal using ozone generators. Here's an example:

I'm pretty sure the body is gone. I removed almost every part I can get my hands to in search of the body.

Search for "ozone generator" and you'll find a number of options. Not sure, but maybe they can be rented, too.

If you like aroma of freshly ground coffee beans, put some in an open bag and leave it in the car. This doesn't completely eliminate odor of the dead pest, but it masks odors well.

Do not put an ozone generator in your car, it may work, but it WILL DESTROY your plastics. (ask me how i know).
This is how I got my unwanted guest out of my BMW this december after a month of not using it...
1. Cry because you wont be able to use your baby, it is the worse smell ever.
2. have it professionally detailed (engine bay as well, in my case it is where i found the "nest.)
3. Using a water vapor machine hold it in your air vents (my detailer did this) I say this because if you smell it in the cabin, it might have died in there since it nested in your trunk (i believe they connect)
4. Buy something called Ozium (they sell it at pepboys) it is an odor eliminator, and spray it liberally all over the interior and close the car. Do this at least 2-3 times. (i used 2 cans)
5. Lysol the trunk.
6. About a 1.5 months later after spraying lysol or ozium every so often, the smell is gone.
/thread lol
edit: reason i said do not put an ozone generator. I did this and now the vents and the LCD of the radio and AC vents in my car dont look the same, they have a pealed look to it.
im really sorry to hear about that.

Griots sells a product that generates chlorine gas called Odor Exterminator. See http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...xterminator.do
You add water and lock it up in the appropriate enclosed area and it is supposed to kill odor causing bacteria and the like
