Rear subframe mounts
Its that time of year when a man's attention turns lightly to new and interesting ways to sink cash into his p&j.
My 993 C2 is in for its annual once over, and I've asked for a price to replace the existing standard oil-filled engine mounts with solid RS items (a modification which I believe also ideally involves the fitting of the RS engine carrier / hanger..?) - which I think many of my fellow 993 owners have also done
The guys also mentioned the option of replacing the rubber rear subframe mounts with solid items (originally fitted to the 993 GT2, but not the 993 RS) - I've not come across anybody on any of the forums mentioning this - anybody got any experience of this, or any views on how beneficial it may be?
I primarily use the car for weekend A-B road hoonage.
Thanks in advance for any views.

as I understand it, its something to do after you have monoballs in the suspension.
as for the DIY, I don't think its terribly complex.
Loosen old bolt with jack under subframe
remove bolt, lower the jack slowly
pop the old bushings out
put new ones in
new bolt, torqued to spec
rinse, and repeat 3 more times

I agree with NP993. The car is so much more stable on the edge. It also communicates the amount of traction the rear suspension has on fast sweepers and less than perfect surfaces. I did this a while ago and I noticed the difference immediately. With a recent unstall of a 40/65 motorsports LSD again it reminds me how glad I am I did this. the monoballs going on soon should impress the fact even further i would say. They are good for a fast street car IMHO.

Have decided to give the green light for both engine mounts (RS) and the subframe mounts - thanks to all for your replies - will post my findings when I get her back on the road
