Default Long winters are not all bad..

..because you sure have plenty of time to sit next to your car getting slightly drunk and thinking of things you could do while waiting summer!

I thought I'd share what I did this winter with my car:
- Modified bumpers to Euro spec with complimentary orange blinkers
- Acquired a set of LM's which I hand polished and got the centers painted
- Addressed a minor rust issues under rear window and got a new rear window too
- Had the car fully resprayed with hatches and windows off

I finally drove my car out from the garage this week and gave it's first wash and wax. Any imperfections visible are a result of my inept waxing skills .

I think I will enjoy this summer .

Your car looks like new! Great colour combination! What is a 'Euro spec' bumper...?

Car looks great and LOVE the wheels. I'm guessing your car is US spec and is now back in Europe, no?

Thanks everyone, I'm really happy how the wheels turned out too! It's not standard BBS gold but Porsche colour 539 called white gold metallic.

It's a fancy way of saying that I removed the bumperettes .

Took the car for long spirited drive tonight on the backroads for some high RPM fun and I'm so pleased how the new rims and tires work!

The tires are 235/40/18 & 265/35/18 Falken 452's and I was originally concerned about negative effects compared to the OEM 17" setup, even though the LM's are light for their size. I'm happy to report that there's no issues! The car dances smoothly over bumps and corners very well, there's no feel of sluggishness or increased jerkiness I've experienced with some cheap aftermarket 18" setups.

I'm also very positively surprised about the Falkens, they don't hunt and are quiet (as far as I can tell, the car has stage III Fisters... ). The grip is also good and the feel when approaching limit is logical. No wet surface experiences yet but from what I've read it should be decent. I heartily recommend them as the price in Europe is very good compared to the premium stuff (500€ for the full set)!

Does anyone have recommendations for street tire pressures? I'm currently using 36 front, 39 psi rear.

Oh - dear gawd......

Just shoot me...

That is stunning!!!

John

BTW: I'd take pics of my 993 during the winter months in NH, but I'm afraid all of you would cringe at seeing a C4 used as a DD..???
