I am originally from Victoria/Vancouver. Been living in the Bay Area for a long time now, but I would really love to bring my 993 Cab up there for the drive to Whistler. My car in college (ok -- in Canada we called it University :-) ) was a 1977 Buick Skylark (and this was in 1991 !) Not exactly the same experience...

Definitely a beautiful route though most of the enjoyment now is from the scenery. Drive the road as you might in any sportscar however and you'll end up carless and cashless. Oh well, that's why I love these cars, you don't have to be in "attack mode" to have a great drive.
