But seriously... how often do you see the non-limited Vesuvio S cars??? I've actually never seen one. I've only ever seen 2 "limited edition" S's in the flesh (one of which is sadly no longer with us).

Very rare... Haven't had the pleasure of seeing either a "real" one, or a "paint-to-order" one like the one for sale.

But for $52K, the one for sale should have been the real McCoy.

Cool color. Along with Slate, one of my favorite 993 colors.

Meh. I certainly wouldn't kick it out of the garage.

Like I said before, IMHO, I actually don't think that $51K isn't an unrealistic asking price for a nice condition C2S with factory aerokit and 41K miles (go look for yourself). Add to that a paint-to-sample and that color being Vesuvio to boot, I'd say this car will make both sides happy with the right buyer (someone looking for a vesuvio S). You're not going to find another one any time soon.

If the color of the door handles, spoiler grill and mirrors bugged me, I'd go get them painted for a few hundred bucks. It's not like you're dealing with body panels, or even a bumper cover. Just my 2¢. YMMV.

edit: here are other 97-98 Carrera S with aerokits that I found for sale right now with asking prices, just for fun:
1997 - white - 45K miles - $52K

1998 - red - 17K miles - $57.9K

1998 - black - 38K miles - $48.9K

Pretty car but pricey. There will be a buyer out there who will pay up for this unit. Not me.

Price doesn't seem that far out of line. I have friend with one of the limited versions, it's a very distinctive color. Would love to have it but still very much like mine so I'm happy.

A beautiful color indeed. Here is a Rennlister's with the stahl grau accents and the marketing brochure from Porsche:
