Default No power to trunk mounted CD changer

A few weeks ago the cassett for the trunk mounted CD changer got stuck in the player. This weekend I pulled the unit out of the trunk and and was able to remove the cassett from the player. (Note: This can actually be done with out removing the player - see owner manual).
While pluging the player back in, I accidentally touched the cable that connects the player to the head unit to the body of the player and saw a small spark. Now there is no power to the unit. I tryed checking the fuse box but was uable to find any blown fuses. The owners and shop manuals do not go into any detail about these units and how they are wired in.

Does anyone know if there is an in-line fuse, or where the fuse for the player (if there is one) is located?

Thanks for your help!

Some fuses may appear good but you have to really look close! I'd check again.

Does the radio still have power? Anything else without power?

What CD player do you have?

Mine is a 6 disc Clarion in the trunk and yes, one can remove the cassette without removing the whole unit.
My cable connection to it is a round multi-plug. It is possible that there is an internal fuse? Check the manual.

Some manufacturers have manuals and info on line.

The radio still works fine, no loss of power anywhere else, but now when I press the CD button on the radio instead of an error message I get nothing at all...

I actually pulled each fuse out and inspected to make sure the element was intact - all were fine.

I have the Clarion 6-disc changer in the trunk as well, nothing mentioned in the manuals regarding wiring...I will take your suggestion and check on line.

Thanks Gunter!

Default Could not find info on the web

I tried searching for any information or manuals on-line and came up empty handed.

Has anyone remove the original system to upgrade it or whatever and seen what the wiring looks like - or perhaps knows where the fuse for the CD changer is???

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated...

What is the actual model number?
Clarion xxxxxxxxxxx ??

A Porsche dealer might be some help since this seems to have been an addition around '95 ??

It the Clarion CR220, and yes it was a dealer installed option.

I will give my local dealer a call and see if they can offer up some suggestion(s).

Thanks again Gunter!

Trace the wiring back from the unit towards the dash. If this was dealer installed there may be an additional "in line" fuse.

Thanks Breweister, I did that in the trunk side - nothing there. It's nearly impossible to see anything under the dash without pulling the radio (need special tools for that), I'm going to contact the dealer today and see what they have to say.
This could turn into a good excuse to upgrade my sound system!
