The red 968 to the left in the first pic was for sale a while back on ebay. At the time, the 993RS comfort seats were in the car. I think the car listed for around 15k but I can't remember for sure. I would love to have these seats in my car but 7K is a bit steep...

Not to spoil the party but arent those just "regular" hard back sport seats ?

Those seats were in a 94 968 turbo that was listed on E-Bay for $29,900.00 some time back !! We bought that car last week without seats along with a White 97 Twin Turbo as well !!

Those seats are not 993RS seats... The seats for the 993RS are very similar to Recaro Pole Position, and often in matching two tone colours. I believe the 964 Turbo S and Speedster had the same seats as the 993RS.

Those actually DO appear to be 993RS seats from a car equipped with the comfort package.

What is the difference between regular hardbacks on the 993 and the 993RS sports seats? Not much I would think.

ok, so the correct term since these are out of a RS would be RS comfort seats . . .

better known as hard back sport seats for most of us

They are RS comfort seats. They do not have the power adjust options like the hardback sport seats to save a few pounds.
I would rather Just skip a lunch and save a few grand.

I've done a little research on these in the past. These seats were a standard option in the GT1, GT2 and RS 'street version' cars and offered as 'comfort seats' as an alternative to the pole-position style racing bucket. I've only seen them in this leather combination of black bolsters with Rubicon grey centers. They weigh about 1/2 the weight of a 'normal' 4-way electrically adjustable hardback sportseat, shedding about 20lbs of electric motors, cables, switches and hardware, but they use the same seat frames for both bottom and back. They are more common in Europe, but still fairly rare.

I own a pair of these and paid what I thought was a lot of money for them last year, but about half of the 'Buy It Now' price of these and my seats are in the same condition or better. However, as noted above, this seller, and ex-RL'r, has always priced his items way above market ... but to be fair, his stuff is always top notch. Also, as noted above, there have been problems with people buying things from him, paying for them only to be told they were 'outbid' by another buyer after the auction closed ... so Caveat Emptor.

Exactly, they are non electric without all the heavy stuff. 993RS comfort spec. had these but I have also seen these in 993GT2. Gert sold a set of these last year and Thomas Schmitz had a set for sale last year as well. So they do exist and pop up from time to time and that's mainly I guess due to the owners of comfort spec. 993RS and 993GT2 looking to have some fun at the track and prefers a racing seat with 5pt. harness etc.

Somewhere in ROW land, a genuine 993RS is missing it's seats. If you've got a real RS though, the pole-position style seats are much more in character IMO. The above seats were most commonly seen in RS's also optionally equipped with airbags, A/C (not a bad thing), and power windows. Gaining back many of the lost lbs......
