What a timely thread. I just went to Sunset in Beaverton thia afternoon for new belts for my C2. The parts guy came out to my car to verify revised pulley install. Yes. He had me get the 760 for the altenator. He said the 757 is for turbo's.
I installed them tonight (40 min job). Mine has three shims at both the fan and the alternator pulleys.

The 776 is for the FAN belt.

Arhhh just spotted you yanks have different belts to ROW cars on the fan! We have 776 for manuals and 760 for tips you have 760 for both

PET shows 776 as the alternator!! (inner belt) and 760 as the outer (fan belt)
