Made it home!
and entered Colorado, the scenery changed, subtle at first, like red hills...but then the white stuff appeared.

fortunately it stayed on the hill, but did come right to the edges sometimes, with all the 'chain pullover areas' I was beginning to wonder what I had gotten myself into!

At the very top there is this realllly loooonnng tunnel....but its all down hill after that :-)

And even the 'down hill' bits are lots of fun...passed a Mini Cooper who must have been doing 100+ he was having a ball, until shortly after when my Red Line began chirping and I eased up on the foot feed, slid past the trooper in the median, only to see his top lights come on for the poor Mini behind me. Bet that hurt!
Still going down....

And after Denver...well its a lot of this...:-(.

The biggest object is the Welcome to Nebraska sign, woopeeee

And after that, well, its more of this...

Sometimes you see this...

Which could do this...

And leave you worrying about this...

But after another night in Early Iowa, ( slight detour to visit my brother...), and one in Joliet, near Chicago, I was on to Buffalo for the Sunday night, and Monday's rains found me pulling into familiar territory!
My own driveway, YEA!

And finally in the garage...let the cleaning begin!!

It was a wonderful trip, the car performed flawlessly...OK there were a couple of moments when I wondered what the heck is that 'growling' noise when I slow down for a toll booth...which I discovered was the spoiler after the engine stalled a couple of times for me and the growling was still there. Duh...Anyway working on those 2 issues now, nothing that can't be fixed!

Welcome to Rennlist!! I refused to even read past the first post until you posted some pictures! Great car and awesome trip! You could not have picked a better seller. Managed some of the same roads you did about a month ago with a 993 purchase. Did a 4K mile road trip and then parked her for some 'mods'. Planning on a 'great lakes' road trip in two weeks that will take her from CT to MN to Thunder Bay Canada for the 10 mile road race (as in running not car racing), then to Peterborough, then to Toronto then to Windsor/Detriot enroute back to CT. I'll happily take the extra hour up hwy 16 from Peterborough and help you rebuild that spoiler assembly, mine is ready for one too!

Jim, that is a great looking 993. The color combo with the wheels and interior is special. I enjoyed looking at your pictures, especially being from Colorado, i could pinpoint exactly the place you took your pic. I'm just thrilled to see your car perform to near perfection as well. And to think people freak out over a 5hr trip, let alone 3000miles.
Welcome to the forum! Change that dang avatar! I thought you were a 21year old (no offense to our younger members). Awesome stable/man cave.

Virgin River Canyon climbing into Utah,a very cool drive. A quarter mile or so of the Interstate is built over the river, the canyon walls are so narrow.... and that's no welcome sign, that's Kearney, NE, a couple hundred miles into NE on I-80. You must of still have been thrilled with the new car and missed the state line.
Nice pics. enjoy the car.
