Big congrats from Julie and I. Bitter sweet, I'm sure, but you deserve it.
The beach house is almost ready, and as promised, you and Barbara are welcome any time.
Enjoy your first trip as a free man and ................stay out of trouble!

Congrats! As I'm stumbling on this, the party's over. (Or is it still going, 24+ hours later???)
Anyway, in four pages so far am I the only one here who reads "Major Crimes" and wonders how no Chief Brenda Lee Johnson crack has shown up yet? In that vein, you've gone from practically Dragnet, definitely Police Story through The Closer and Southland.
(If we want to go completely off-the-wall with LAPD and TV shows, I stumbled across a Rockford Files last night where part of the story was having Jim Garner in a 5.0L era Can Am car at Riverside. There's some memories of a greatly missed track.)

That is a long time! I was 'losing it' after 25 years and retired. I could not have lasted another 9 years. No way. Congratulations and welcome to the retired life. It is nice! Now if only the bad dreams would go away

Nice post, Chuck, and what a career! Thanks for your service.
Okay, I have to admit that when I read that you worked for the Major Crimes Division, my mind immediately went to Al Pacino in Heat whose character worked for "MCU" or Major Crimes Unit. Was the headquarters in the movie the same one that you were in? Andreas and I want to know if you got Pacino and Tone-Loc's autograph.

Now that's a career well spent with such a contribution to society. I'm sure the trials and tribulations were many but your perseverance and dedication are a testament to your character. Enjoy your next chapter and thank you for your service.
