Cool This Saturday (4/30) Drive to Lime Rock for PCA Club Race - NOW WITH PICTURES

I'm heading up to Lime Rock on Saturday to watch the PCA Club Race. The area is beautiful at this time, the twisty roads are open and clear, and this year's event is UNMUFFLED for a change!

There is no charge to get in, you can hang out in the paddock and look at new and old Porsche race cars, and grab lunch at the concession stands. The full schedule is here: http://www.clubregistration.net/club...20Schedule.pdf

I'll be heading from Manhattan but there are many twisty roads in the area that can be explored before arriving at LRP. Anybody interested in joining for a drive?

===================================

MEETING PLACE: ENTRANCE TO FORT TRYON PARK ON FORT WASHINGTON AVENUE IN MANHATTAN.

MEETING TIME: 8:45AM, LEAVING AT 9AM.

I'd be interested if I can get my junk box back together in time.

Sounds fun - after last weekend's washout I fancy a run out.

I always take the Saw Mill River pky to Taconic pky- (no trucks allowed).

The state police in NY patrol & hide on the Taconic to look for the bikes & cars racing on the twisties.

My mechanic is racing (Chris Palumbo 993) I will probably go & watch.

Not planning on taking the Taconic for that very reason.

I was thinking of leaving around 9AM. Takes a couple of hours to get there. I'd rather not post the route on a public forum, you never know who reads these posts. But feel free to PM me if you like and I'll be happy to share it.

What's the difference between
" Connecticut Valley Sprint Race" & " Lime Rock Sprints" ?

No difference. They are both 30 minute sprints. This year they're not doing a sprint and an enduro, but two sprint races for each class. That makes for two trophies and I guess that's how they differentiate them.
