Default Sports Seats?

I have sports seats and the drivers side is a 'little' more worn then the passenger side. The wear is in the usual spot where the belt comes over the shoulder part of the seat, as well as a little on the lumber on the left side.

So here is the question. Can I swap the entire seat back with the passenger one? I know I can remove the leather cover, but thinking this maybe easier. Do I need to remove the hard shell back as well (was thinking of getting them painted anyway) to do this?

I know the bottoms are not exchangeable, since they have the power controls, but the tops look the same.

Yes, its possible and I have done it, but you do have to take the seat apart quite a bit, including taking the back off the sport seats. I did exactly the same thing, I would rotate the left to right to even out the bolster wear.

I sold the sport seats quite a while ago so I do not remember the exact procedure, but I just took it apart and figured it out...I seem to remember its not that hard. Take a peek, it you get scared, take it to a good seat shop and they can do it.

Cheers,

Mike

Go to a good leather/interior repair shop and have them fix the wear marks on the bolsters. Not expensive and works great.

Here is my drivers side bolster. This was fixed in a matter of 40 minutes.

Before.....

After.....

I also had this done on my previous 964 and 3 years later it still looked great! The wear became consistant with how the rest of the seat had aged and looked great!

Do you know what they did to fix the bolster?

The seats are in a separate pet. It's available from the Porsche website.
