Quad,
If you truly wave the white flag, you can take it to a shop with a press... I'm going to be doing this soon and am really curious about how much fun/torture this will be.

PM me if you want the arms completely refreshed - old bushings removed, arms bead blasted, new bushings installed, sent back to you.

Don't worry about the 12mm...the caster bolt will not rotate when you remove the nut. Mark it against the forging before removing then hold it in-place w/ a channel-lock and re-torque the nut.

I didn't even try to change the bushings myself...Chris Walrod did an outstanding job...thanks again, Chris!

Car is awesome with this + PSS10's...do it.

I had mine pressed out and the arms bead blasted at a local machine shop. I think I paid $75 for it. Didn't feel like dealing with hack saw, propane torch, etc.

Do not give up. I know exactly where you are because I was quite inefficient on the first arm and applied my learnings to the second side which was very easy compared to the first side:

If the big sleeve does not come out easily, you need to make the saw cuts deeper. Just do two cuts 1/4 inch apart and you can chisel it out. ("open like a fish can"). Take your time to make the two cuts and it pays off BIG when you change tools.

They generally looked ok, although there was some localized cracking. Then again its really hard to tell by just looking at them.

I didn't have time to get the new ones pressed in yet, but I'm doing that tonight, and I should have it back on the road by wednesday, and I'll post an update.

Looking forward to this as I had some tramlining and slight vibrations.

ok bushings went in like cake with a vice.

One LCA is on the car. Little bit of a bitch getting that rear bushing in as its quite tight. I used a jack to get it in place, but fine tuning it to get the bolt in took a bit of light tapping. A tip that worked for me was to tilt the control arm almost vertical as it made it easier to adjust the axial location.
