Default Yes, ANOTHER wheel offset question!

So, question about front wheels only:

Is anyone running an ET45 with an 8.5" wheel? I know it's a pretty aggressive width/offset combo for a 993, but is anyone running it? I would like to run a 235mm wide tire and as close to factory camber specs as possible.

FWIW, the only data point I have is that TechArt/Speedline Daytona's are 8.5 ET40 in the front (at least according to their catalog).

TIA!

I would like to officially declare this thread BS, unless you change your avatar so we can see the Purple TT. (I won't say Barney, just in case you changed the name).

DANG! I'm working on it! I'm trying to get the black wheels off it. No offense to Mike or anyone that has black wheels, it's just not my style.....so much so that I didn't even want to take pictures of it.

I got the wheels I want in my possession, but naturally as soon as THAT happened another set came along that I might....possibly.....perhaps want more....but I'm trying to decide if the offset/width combo in my OP will work.

....and I'm not sure I could change the name from Barney even if I wanted to at this point.

Here's the best I can do for you right now.....it's all I got....I promise it'll be cleaner next time you see it........

I have 18x8.5 with an ET of 45, and run 235/40. I have also run 245/40 on these wheels.

When they first went on the car was running about -2 negative camber on the front at just below RS ride height. I have had no rubbing at all on the front (no rolled fenders). I am not sure how they would be at a more street oriented alignment.

No.....ahhhhhhh......no, I'm pretty sure pink wheels would just ruin it.

I had 225 SO2s on 8.5"ET45 as shown in the sig pic below; later swapped to 245 PS2s. Sold the wheels to Father of 3 and using the 245 on 9"ET40.

So 8.5 ET 40 won't fit as per a previous thread, but ET 45 would?

Well, if you ask Techart, 8.5 ET40 WILL fit. This is page 33 from the Techart 993 catalog and I circled the data point in red. I don't have and I'm not running these wheels, but plenty of people are, so I have to assume that it does fit/work.
