Rather than paint, I'd just apply 3M tape...some stripes in carbon fiber or beter yet how about flames? Flames on a race car

What about trying it with a wrap?

The wrap is a good idea. If you don't like it, it can be removed. However, if you really are sold on the look, how about a replacement front bumper to better match the look your going for? (no affiliation).

There's a reason why the 993 didn't come off the factory line two-toned. however if you want similar visual effects of a two-tone scheme, the car graphic wrap is an excellent suggestion. Probably cost less than sending the car to the paint booth.

Personally I think the 2 tone is ricer. I say that not to be mean, but because you are soliciting opinions. I like it on old muscle cars, but not 993s. Only my opinion though.

You are correct. it is a rice car. It lacks yellow stickers, however. Remember, every pound of yellow stickers adds 2 hp.

Here's a great site with some famous 993RSR's showing their livery. You might find a good idea here. http://www.racingsportscars.com/cars...0Carrera%20RSR

Thx for the website! Great looking track cars. I'll probably just do something like this.

As I mentioned before, my car is a full on track car, gutted interior weighing just 2750lbs with 7pt roll cage. It's not your usual garage queen 993. Seriously don't get how adding different color schemes makes a car "ricer". Then all the Cup Cars and GT class cars are all ricers right?

Bavarian, I don't think adding 2 colors would make it any better or worse (or faster or slower on the track). My own race car is single color simply because I'm too cheap to spend money on paint. But I clearly see race car as an expression and it can be any color scheme you want, the wilder the better. I would personally try Gulf colors, but starting with silver is a little tough. I'd probably look to add orange. Also, see Mark in Baltimore for his color scheme on a silver race 993, which i think is extremely nice and tasteful.

My comment was not on color, however. It's that front bumper and valance... I think it's a bit too much. RSR cars didn't use that. Than again, if it solves a specific problem for you and you can describe (to yourself) ow it solves it, that's all that matters. I'm about to put a large ugly spoiler at 55 degrees vertical on my own trunk lid. And I actually know why.

two tone is garbage.

if you must, then have it done in wrap. do not paint it.

bigggg waste of money how ever.
