Finally finished up last night. Again, thanks to Ken (race911) for selling me an old 964 RS America RSD. It was in decent shape, missing one of the door ***** and trim piece, some rusted out hardware and brackets, etc. All the pieces I needed were still available from Porsche. The 964 RS America RSD has 'wings' that need to be cut off to fit in a normal 993 coupe. I made a cardboard template of that area of my car. I pulled the carpet back on the RSD and cut off the wings to match my template. While I had the storage doors and center panel off to clean everything up, I pulled off the factory vinyl covers and cleaned off all the glue. I had a guy down in Escondido, CA (Auto's International, near San Diego) recover the pieces in black leather. They came out awesome, this place does complete interior restorations on 356s and 911's, the shop was very impressive. Anyway, put it all back together with the new pieces and hardware. I love this piece, NEVER used the rear seats and now have more interior storage and a nice shelf with tie-down strap mounts. Here are some pics...
