Check out my 'new' steering wheel
I decided to give in to the slippery slope after seeing Chuck W's beautiful custom 4-spoke steering wheel he got back a few weeks ago. I was casually looking around on Ebay when I scooped a deal on a late model 4-spoke wheel...which I 'won' for $22!
I debated where to send it. The general consensus was either Cars Dream in Poland or Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. After some back and forth I sent it to Don Le at Dallas. He was able to work with me a little on price, and does great work...plus I wanted to support our folks working in the USA. If we don't support them, soon there won't be anybody left around. It worked out being just marginally more expensive than Cars Dream.
These are the specs -
- Black perforated leather on sides
- Black smooth leather on top and bottom
- Steering wheel thickened by 1/16th
- Steering wheel thickened Hand Grips
- Black stitching
- All placement of thread and joints in original positions
What do you think? I also ordered a new air bag retainer as a precaution.

Hi Don,
Looks great! I really like the idea of recovering the 4-spoke retaining the vintage 911 look.
Did you consider using the grey color for the top and bottom of the wheel? I have classic grey interior and have been thinking of a two-tone wheel. Anyone else done that?
