Hope your peddling went well and dry at the MS150.
Your car made it without you. Saw the pics!

I usually remember the terrible/frustrating jobs, and I barely even recall doing this to my car about 1.5 years ago (did not do the exchange). It really isn't that bad.

Are the pictures posted somewhere? My C4S is in for a 21k mile check up and potentially a suspension upgrade.

Hahaha ...I've done this several times and hated each and every one of them; but did it anyway because it's a lot of shop-labor cost. But given Chris' very reasonable core charge, I know what my choice will be when it comes time for me!!

i think chris wanted 350 for core exchange (cant remember exact figures so dont quote me) but was back ordered. so i removed my LCA and paid someone to press in the new bushing for me ($100 worth of work) and reinstalled it myself. so $200 for parts and labour doing it this route. unless your factory rubber bushings are REALLY cracked and brittle (in my case), its a pig of a job to remove by yourself.

I am also planning to upgrade this kit shortly. Since I am at it, should I buy a pair of brand new LCA instead of using the current ones ? Afterall the car has been on the road for over 14 years.

Why not buy your own press to make the job easier? A cheap one can be picked up for 100-200 bucks. You''l then have the satisfaction of having done the job yourself plus having a tool for future use.

no.

Once the bushings are removed, you have a plain old piece of cast aluminum. There is really nothing to wear out. I guess you could be concerned about fatigue or some sort of micro cracking, but I really wouldn't worry about it just due to age.

Those suckers are expensive, so I wouldn't buy new ones unless yours are damaged.

You are right. Just checked with my local dealer and they are US$650 a piece. In that case I may have to send mine to Chris to get done.
