As the title states, my mag silver Fister Stage 2's showed up on Monday . Went out this morning to take the factory mufflers off, and of course proceeded shear the bolts on both clamps for the tip and catalyst. Sprayed with WD40 before I started, but were pretty corroded. No big deal. As I attempted to loosen the 6mm allen bolt on the strap holding the muffler, it appears I may have stripped it. Any suggestions for removing? I'll probably wind up buying new straps along with clamps to install the Fisters, so destructive methods may apply. Need to get this done before Hershey.

Use PB Blaster to soak bolts behorehand....way more effective than WD-40. I would just grab a dremel tool and cut the bolt head off and buy new bolts....no need to ruin the strap. I replaced all bolts with Stainless last time I had the mufflers off.

 

This... I didn't snap one taking mine off, but they were corroded pretty bad. I replaced w/ stainless bolts/nuts when the new ones went back on.

 

Curious, how long did you wait for the fisters? I ordered bout a week ago, and I cant wait! Also goin to hersey.

 

Wait for the Fisters was not long. Maybe 3 weeks. Quicker than Darin had quoted.

 

Mine were a week, even though he prepped me for longer. Just really depends on how fast he can get
the cores returned he said. Worth the wait for sure.

Sorry to hear about your bolt issues. If you need new nuts/bolts, the cat and tip clamp bolt are 8 x 65 and the strap bolt is 8 x 50.
