So, Blue Cash for everything but eating in restaurants, in which case I use the AmEx/Costco card. I get another $150-$200 cash back from that, so about $1200 cash back every year from both cards. And like I said, I'm gonna buy the things anyway, so it's free money back. Dunno why anyone wouldn't do it, especially if you pay off the card in full and never carry a balance, like I do.
Don't even get me started about the cash back you can get from eating out, just from making your reservations via OpenTable.com.
BTW, I'm not affiliated with any of these cards, website, etc. I just like getting free cash back and good meal rewards

PenFed Platinum Rewards is 5% back for gas, 1% back on the rest. Great card, and they post the credit monthly (Amex/Costco is an annual payout in the Spring which I find quite annoying)

No, American Express Blue Cash is 5% cash back on gas, groceries, etc. Everything else is 1.25%, including restaurants, so, for restaurants, I actually use the AmEx/Costco card, which not only is a Costco card in a credit card, but pays 3% cash back at any restaurant. It also gives you 5% savings at Costco (I think it's 5%, could be wrong).

I don't go for cash back cards-give me miles any day. Free First Class tix to Europe every other year beat 5% or whatever cash back, IMHO. I probably bank 50K miles off my card each year, and that adds up nicely with the 75K I fly. We like to travel, and I hate coach on long trips.

There is a sign on the pumps at the Costco gas station in Seattle that states their fuel has the "Kirkland" additives. I cracked up when I first saw it a few months ago.

Oops, my mistake.
Open Table rewards diners with points when they make reservations via Open Table for a participating restaurant. Those points can be redeemed via checks, not cash back, that are good at any Open Table restaurant. In Los Angeles alone there are hundreds of restaurants that participate.
Again, no affiliation, etc.

Mine is;
GAS: 1%
GAS: 0.5% (not sure of the distinction)
Grocery: 1%
Drugstore: 1%
All else: 0.5%
My Amex/Costco is:
Gasoline:3%
Gasoline 1%: 1% (not sure what the distinction is)
Restaurants: 3%
Travel: 2%
All else: 1%
The aforementioned Penfed card used to be Gas @ 5%, All else @ 2%, but they changed the All else category to 1% this year. Gas at any station is still 5%, and as I mentioned the thing I like best about it is the no-nonsense monthly payment credited back on the account.

Sorry for the confusion.
