hi Harlan,

3 layers of clear coats were applied. Now the painting is slightly thicker than factory (150-160 micron instead of 110-120) If there were only 2 layers, the thickness were similar to factory standards.

thanks for the compliment!

yes, the paint is glasurit. But you can choose some other well known companie's paint. There is a large price range for this kind of work depends on quality and the paint shop. Unfortunetly sometimes there's a reverse connection between price and quality

it was not so easy to find a shop, who is ready to remove the painting by hand do the complete work and take the time it's neccessary for a good quality work. Most shops rather paint 3 toyotas than 1 Porsche in the same time.

I have found a small shop with some enthusiastic guys, who can accept my wishes and quality control and don't charge me 3x.

Arpad

ps: i'll send you a Pm with numbers

Arpad -
While you have rear PU off, you may want to remove and inspect shielding all the way to the cat, as well as inspect and possibly repaint rear PU supports:

RP993,
You may want to read post #28 and later #87 (I think) here and see if you've got the same issues, while you are in there:
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-w-pics-2.html
Since yours was a CA (only?) car it might not be an issue...

Nice to see some love put into these cars!

As the body getting like new, i had to take care about the interior. The black leather had some marks during the years which needs some help.

The picture showing the driver's seat with a little dust, so it's easier to see the wear:

When you first posted, I was wondering why you would strip a car that looks to be fine. Now I see why, it looks new!

Thanks for taking the time to share your project.

Yesterday i could take a look on my car! here's some photos. Sorry, but the light condition wasn't too optimal. But promise, there will be more and better pictures.

to tell the truth, beside the visual joy there was some ride also

the car is eqquipped with brand new Bilsten B6 sport shocks (tested on Nordschleife) and Eibach Pro springs. The factory shocks were at the end of their lifetime and i wanted some more sporty setup. After a short drive a was suprised, that the ride quality is much finer and smoother than with the old factory setup!!!

it worth every penny!
