I'll make a point of stopping in at the Porsche Museum this July.

Its pretty bad when you pass by every year coming up the A7 from the Alps to hit the A8 to Karlsruhe without stopping in Stuttgart. Burn me at the stake!

But I did run into your test and development center back in 2008. Security let me keep this pic...

The story behind the pic...
June 30, 2008 - Porsche Entwicklungszentrum, Weissach, Germany.

With a whole day to get to the Heidleberg area from Agathazell, I was in no rush and decided to forget the map and just head NW using the GPS pointer. As I got close to Stuttgart, I veered to the west to avoid traffic and ended up in Weissach. Hey wait a minute, I know that town name and glancing down at my GPS, sure enough "Porsche Test Track".

I drove up to the main entrance, parked my BMW and as I was getting my camera out, a voice from behind me noted that I was from Canada. He worked there and was about to head to his motorcycle parked in the lot when I asked if he could take a pic of me in front of the above sign. Within seconds security was out and instructed me that photos were not allowed. After viewing the photo I had taken, the security guard allowed me to keep it.

The employee parking lot was filled with every Porsche imaginable. Pure heaven!

GPS
N48° 51.088' E008° 54.098'

Little did I know at the time that less than fifteen months later, I'd own my first Porsche. Little did I know at that time that less than twelve months later, I and my BMW motorcycle would be taken out by an idiot in a car. Fate!!!

Very cool, I took this one from the main lobby of Weissach with the camera in my pocket. Just remember to ask for Herr Straub

Will you be located in Weissach or in Stuttgart?

I guess he won't be enjoying the museum...like some of us.
