Here is a few more taken at different angles with direct and indirect sunlight that might help you better make up your mind. Im 95% they are CG the ones you are looking at....

To my documented knowledge, the picture I posted is a Marble grey interior with Classic grey dash and door tops. My cab has a classic grey interior and it's hard parts and vinyl covered dash and door caps look EXACTLY like this picture under low light with a purple/redish hue. I also own a set of seats with Rubicon grey centers. That grey is both darker and much closer to the 996 interior color 'graphite'. Hope that helps.

And I thought sport seats were fairly unusual. Seem to be lots of them here.

Anybody venture to guess what % of 993s came with sport seats? I'm just curious.

Thanks.

Classic grey hard backs probably less than 1% of production. It took me years of looking to eventually but black ones and have them professionally recovered. I know of only 5-6 sets of these seats in CG on the 993 & 993TT boards combined after 10 years of being a member.

they were far more common in the UK and Europe where I would think 30% of 993TT/C4S/C2S were ordered with them...

Cheers

Jon Paul, that's interesting. If there is any chance in the future to have a pic or two made of Rubicon and Classic grays next to each other and clearly identify, that would be great!

I've had a cab with marble gray interior before and a few leather gray pieces that were (supposed to be) Rubicon were sent to me, like steering wheel and e-brake. That's where I first saw the purple hue. But they could have been Classic as well per your description.

very good example! Ive tried photographing mine numerous times. they come out anything from almost white to almost the actul colour Im seeing but ver rarely do they ever look via the camera how they do to my eye. The midnight blue exterior is the same. Porsche must have had a nightmare with these colours when making marketing materials...

So there are three tones of grey, the classic grey, the marble grey, & the rubicorn grey. Am I right ?

I look at the leather of my current seats and it seems to be thicker & harder than the leather used on the sport seats. So is there any difference in term of the leather used among different kinds of seats ?

Hi Mike,
The following photo's are of interior colors that I've either documented by the car's options sticker numbers, Certificate of Authenticity or testimony by the owner who has checked their options sticker.

Sorry, I can't put the two together in one picture under the same light, but here's a photo of Rubicon centers against black bolsters. You can see that the grey is very dark, almost like charcoal.

As opposed to Classic grey in my Cab which is a medium grey with red overtones:

As opposed to Marble grey, which is very white/silver with a colder blue/green tint: (thanks Michael )

I don't mean any offense to anyone when I say this, but IMHO there really shouldn't be any confusion. I realize the colors change somewhat under different light, but if you look at them all together, all three are several shades (and basic tones) away from each other. When I look at the OP's linked eBay ad, those seats look to be exactly the same as my Cab's and don't look anything like any of the photo's I have of Marble Grey which is almost white in pictures and in person.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...757399066.html

These are the only grey interior options listed in my reference books for 993's. Of course, there were interiors done 'to sample' by Exclusive but colors such as 'Space Grey' don't show up in production until 1999/2000 for the new 996 model.

Please, seriously, if anybody here has pictures of 993 interiors in these colors, share them here. I'd love to ad them to my collection and update my information.
