Nice post Bill and i appreciate the information in the PM. I got a guy who will let me test drive his TT so I can compare against my non-turbo.

Once again, if I could keep my car that I love and have that linear acceleration that you speak of, that's all I really want. Excellent post and can't wait to see your impression a couple months from now after better weather and more drive time.

Awesome!

Bill, I am really impressed by the dyno numbers ... 395 Hp and 364 Ft-lbs are excellent specs ... better than the factory turbo S at the wheels

Just FYI regarding the Kinesis Supercups - most will not clear Big Reds. Both front and rear. That's because Kinesis used a smaller center for the Supercups.

There is a way to get it to work - you will need wheels with "thick center" (and smaller outside lip) in order to fit. Most of the wheels out there are not built that way. Back in the day when Wheel Enhancement were building them they would ask customers specifically.

Anyway, back on topic... Should've picked up Bob's supercharger that he had for sale a couple of months ago. Good deal and a great upgrade!

Does the engine run hotter? Are there any modifications to the oil cooling system? Maybe a direct switch to turn on the cooling fans?

Hey Chao,

I didn't have heat issues with the non-intercooled supercharger on the RSA. And I tracked that thing quite a bit.

thanks again. Pics coming. Again, I think the baseline was a bit low given the old gas, so maybe the percent increase is an overestimate.

So far the engine runs the same using stock temp gauge, maybe slightly cooler - but the outside temp in minnesota now has not been over 45. I haven't had long hard continuous runs with it which is the time I would expect a difference. I now have EGT monitor, but don't know what it was before by comparison - using that in normal driving the EGT is betweeen 7-800. Only with repeated full throttle does it go up.

I would have to say that for the street, maybe even for the track, the supercharger is the way to go.

I drove briefly a modified 930 and modified 965. In both cars, you floor the gas at 2.5-3K rpm, and wait...and wait..and wait...then finally at 4K, the tach rushes to redline. If you lightly lift off, boost will bleed off, and you have to wait again. This is really annoying on the street.

As for making big power, turbo is where it is at.

Congrats on the great results!

However, I have to think we're missing something with that dyno plot. Going from 216 rwhp to 397 rwhp is far beyond what others have seen, and I'm pretty sure technically impossible at just 5 psi boost. 330 to 350 rwhp would be a success, but 397 is rather odd, to say the least.

Regardless, sounds like a great improvement.

Eric, I was running 5psi on my non-intercooled older version SC. The intercooled units with the Unichip and 2 additional injectors run higher boost.

Maybe the 216hp is rwhp, and the 397 is the flywheel hp? Those numbers would make much more sense since TPC says power gain is ~100hp.

The most rwhp I've heard with the normal pulley is 325rwhp.

The dyno plot above shows he's running 5psi boost at peak power.

I'll double check with the shop and be sure they aren't setting it up for displaying calculated flywheel instead of rwhp - I doubt it as the larger pdf has figures under where there is a higher engine hp calculated using what looks like a 10% driveline estimate.
