Default Winter projects done!

It all started back in October, when my car was in a little hit & run. I had a baseball size dent in the rear quarter right at the bumper. While it was in the shop, I decided on getting the bumper & hood redone. Also removed the bumperetts, & license plate holes. Then did a full clear bra on the entire front end with out any relief cuts.

Then comes X-mas, full ROW M030 suspension & Walrod bushings from FD Motorsports. Did the install last weekend. Guess what? my factory M030 shocks were STILL GOOD(!) after 100,000+mi!!! The bushings were in good shape as well. The install was ok, the bushings were the worst part, but I got it down now. Come to find out, I didn't have the steering rack brace, & I wrecked one of the lower ball joints removing the control arms. FD Motorsports to the rescue again, with great parts @ great prices! I know the ball joints are OEM, as they scrapped off the metal Porsche part # on the ball joints! Cost less then 1/2 the dealer to boot!

Also needed some new rubber, I wanted to run a little wider tires, what do I find a nice set of NB TT's for sale locally. With very bald rear tires. Yokohama AD 08's to the rescue!!

February also marked my 3 year anniversary with the 95 C4. I picked her up in perfect shape & 67kmi, now just over 104kmi. Almost every option int he catalog is on this car. This has been one of the most reliabel cars I have ever owned. While I may have paid more for the car, it has been worth every penny! Only 2 things have happened in the 3 years, sans general services, 1 AC recharge, & one OBC bulb. Bone stock when I got her now she sports......

Interior,
Porsche Traffic Pro radio with ipod cable
ALM shifter & e-brake
996 steering wheel & leather airbag
removed the cassette holder & put in the storage cubby

Exterior
removed bumperetts & license plate holes
Euro clear lens
HID kit
full clear bra
"993" rear emblem
Big oval exhaust tips
painted engine fan & housing

Performance
Porsche Motorsound package (take off from the C4S)
18in NB TT (solid spoke =-() Yoko AD08 rubber
RS pulley
BMC air filter

First pics when I picked her up.

Bringing home the tt wheels, yup, they all fit.

Yes, I drove on ICE with these bald tires! The C4 did AWESOME!

Bumper modification

Suspension & wheels

The C4 hanging with Scarlet, I LOVE this car! It handles so well now!

I think it's time to change my sig, neither car looks like that anymore.

Wow, those are some nice upgrades. Looks great!!

I hope the ride home with all the wheels in the car wasn't long. I tried that once and had a stiff back for a couple of days

Looks great. Well presented pictures that are simple and good, like your car. I can relate to your love of the 993. It truly is a pleasure to own and drive!

The engine compartment is beautiful- nice job! I also love the euro-clear no-bumperette turn indicators.

Einszett plastic cleaner, then Einszett Vinyl & rubber. The pics make it look better then it really is, it was a bit on the dirty side.

Thanks guys, yes, I like the OEM+ look, & really LOVE how clean the front end looks, it should have come form the factory this way.

It was around a 45mi drive. I was totally comfortable. If you do it right, there is plenty of room for the driver.

I'm going to sell these as soon, as the budget permits a set of hollow spoke or Speedlines.

There was a Euro charity group drive this Sunday. Did a little over 350mi, most on fun twisty back roads & RT 101 in the mountains.

The suspension is great. However, I think the progressive rate springs can be a little bouncy, & I wish the stock shocks had a little more compression & rebound dampening. I think it drives a little smoother then the US M030 kit.

Of course I took a few more pics, my first try @ HDR photography.

A couple of others...

I am in TOTAL LOVE with my car again. It handles so night & day different from stock, then 18's do add a bit of harshness, & you can feel the heft of the wheel. But man, just THROW it into a corner, & it sticks! The grip is unbelievable! I know the sticky rubber also helps. I am going to eat up the Auto-X corse this year!!!!

HDR stands for Hight Dynamic Range... If you're familiar with photography, you end up taking a series of photographs up to -5ev to +5ev across and combine them digitally or in a dark room. It captures the details in the shadows and the highlights that are usually missed in a single exposure. The human eye has about 4 times the visual range compared to that of a camera sensor, when it comes to light resolving. HDR tries to close the gap.

HDR basically brings out all the deeper tones, & contrast. It can also look very over processed. It's harder to do then you think.

Regular pic used to help make the HDR
