Have to agree with you. It was in '03 that they went to glass rear windows. I put an '03 top on my '01 Boxster S so I could have a glass rear window. Well worth the cost.

The only time I have my top down is on a warm summer night or during sunset. When Its hot you get baked, and when its cold, its very uncomfortable.
As for a 993 cab, get ready for creeks, rattles, and serious body flex.

Weird, I have none of that on mine...did you owned one that was like that?

We had a 300 SL for a few years, and I just felt too conspicuous in it with the top down.
But, as noted above, the choice is entirely subjective.
I know that Bruce Anderson's pricings have been extensively criticized here, but I see that his averages for cab prices are higher than for coupes.

No creaks here....with my 95 cab
With earlier comment of people going to 997 to 993:
Probably leased 997 as their first Porsche to test it out....liked it.........turned it in after lease....bought 993 for half price versus used 997......

I owned a 993 cab and sold it for a widebody. The cab was very nice, but not being able to take it to a DE always bothered me. To satisfy the cab urge, I picked up a 968 cab. If the 968 doesn't do the trick, I'll try a newer boxster some day.

Cab, would not have it any other way. Nothing like the open air flowing through the cabin. 993 new were $6K higher than the coupe. Love the looks of the cab. Here are my two German cabs.

Really? Do you have data to backup your market "is what it is - fact"?

I had been away from Porsches for about 20 years and bought an '02 996 C2 coupe. I really liked the car but it felt more like a GT car than a sports car. So I sold it and bought a '97 993 Cab. I love this car and while I will have other Porsches I will always keep this one!
