Just me, but I like the stripe ending at the bottom of the hood

Very Cool! I always love a good stripe but never had the Kahunas to do it. Since you have the best color, I think you should go for it!

IMHO the off white/ivory is perfect. It got a period patina about it which softens the effect. Silver may be a bit too modern/strong for this asthetic?

Hmmm. I was thinking the same silver as the wheels. Maybe the wheels should be the same off white/ivory as the stripe? Damn. I don't need this to turn into a $4k project. White wheels would be hell with the brake dust. [thinking while typing]

Excellent idea ...

One suggestion: end the stripe just above the horizontal line on the bumper just like the long hood 911 to provide a clean design that honors the original.

I'd end at the hood and forget the front bumper...its a bit too much. What does it look like with a narrower stripe than shown? Maybe 75% of the shown width, as its starting to dominate the car, rather than accent it. I think it would look good running into, not around, the front hood air intake at the top.

+3. Stopping at the bottom of the grille makes the front of the car look too tall, thus making it look like the front end is either too long or too high. IMHO.

Bump...Any update?! We're curious.

I was wondering whether someone could create (or has) a wrap that mimics the orange stripe/"Porsche Intelligent Performance" that's on the 918RSR on the cover of Feb/March Christophorus? How do you think that might look on a Polar Silver 993 Cab (midnight blue top)? Seems it could be a modern update of the Gulf Racing color combo? Maybe get matching wheel color (orange) if going all-in for the racing look?

OK...no laughing, please. I am NOT a photo editor. So, here's a mock-up of the orange stripe on a Polar Silver 993. Reactions? What else would you do to pull this off? Paint sidemirrors?

Added a RUF-inspired front bumper (more race car-like)...

I am going to do this but right now I'm deep in my annual emmisions test battle. This year it is a tiptronic DTC that will require a new DME. I did the tiptronic to 6 speed conversion and thought I could fool the tiptronic ECU into acting like the 6 speed ECU ... but noooo!

If you only want the stripe of the 918 a wrap is not required. Would be in the same realm of possibility and price (a bit more complex) as the one I'm doing.
