Slightly OT: Successful Import of Race Car (993) From UK/Europe or even Canada
I seem to have read years ago here on RL about someone successfully importing a race car from the UK to USA under one of 2 exemptions: (1) The race car exemption or (2) The "display only" exemption. In my cursory reading, I found an interesting anecdote regarding the race car exemption: that it must either be exported out of the USA after 5 years or destroyed - YIKES. Not sure if this was accurate or not...
In any case, are there any known/knowledgeable brokers or specialists that handle all the legalities for such imports that anyone is aware of?
Regardless of the exchange rate (UGH)...I am considering this as a possibility in the future.
TIA for any info.

Take a look at this old posting in Rennlist. I could not find an importer or broker for grey market cars. They used to be common (see the movie Rain Man - it's what Tom Cruise did for a living in the movie).
I also thought the DOT and EPA had relaxed their standards and allowed a single car as a one time exemption for individual purchasers - but I can't find any info on this on either web site.

there is a true 1999 GT3 clubsport in USA that was imported from germany under the "not for road use" condition.
It runs PCA events and track days.
Great car and owned by a rennlister i believe.
do a search if possible. Green GT3 clubsport.
